Article Overview:
Most people make fundamental mistakes when trying to grow their business. These are mistakes I’ve personally made, but correcting them has led me to achieve terrific results.
In today’s blog, I delve into why people fail and how you can learn from it to add zeros to your profits. Many focus on tactics, tricks, and new technologies like AI.
However, these often end up lowering results rather than improving them. It’s the basics that truly drive success.

The Basics Drive Results
Mastering the basics is the key to achieving results and building wealth, despite the allure of shiny tactics. If you don’t understand the basics, the rest doesn’t matter. That’s why we emphasize teaching these fundamentals at InfluxJuice.
It’s a mindset shift that eventually leads people to move away from the allure of new tactics and come back to the basics, which is where true success lies.
For instance, we had some projects underperforming and even losing money.
Was it because the offer wasn’t good enough? No.
Was it due to the need for a better funnel? No.
Was it because of a lack of traffic? No.
These are the typical things people try to fix, often based on advice from marketers and software owners who claim,
“You’re just one funnel away,” or some other cliché.
While it might be true that the perfect funnel, traffic, or system could fix everything,
you could still fail even if all those elements are working perfectly. Here’s why:
Common Reasons for Failure:
- Poor product quality
- Low profit margins
- Insufficient work effort
Even with the best traffic, funnel, and offer, if the product is undesirable and people don’t want it, you will fail.
Similarly, if you have traffic and a good offer but don’t do the daily work like uploading your ads, sending emails, and running campaigns, then guess what? You will fail!
These are the boring basics people forget and spend years trying to fix the wrong things.
In our projects, there was something very simple wrong, and it cost me six figures in lost revenue.
I’m still very upset about it because I don’t like making basic mistakes.
How could I lose six figures?

Simple. When I dug into it, the core work wasn’t getting done, which was ultimately my fault.
Some team members were only working about 1-3 hours a day and doing it inefficiently.
It wasn’t really their fault, as we were just not clear in being organized.
If I work eight hours a day on that and do it with speed and focus, I will get:
- 4x more done just on time put in
- 4x more done because I’m more organized and faster
That’s a 1600% increase in output! That translates to 1600% more revenue.
Do you get it now?
Achieving only 1/16th of the result is essentially bankrupt, and it’s why it lost so much money.
It’s down to the simple things and doing more of them.
For example, while others were looking for the note or email they needed to copy and paste,
I had it done like a fast chef who has all his kitchen tools ready and everything organized in a workflow designed for speed.
In the time they send one email, I can send four!
I occasionally set a timer and compete with myself.
It’s one of the first skills I used when starting out that actually got me results.
Competing with myself to do things fast every day, day after day.
It wasn’t that long ago that I was in a trap and on unemployment benefits until I figured out I had to get fast – work fast and smart.
At that time, the only gig I could get was being paid $3 per post as a beginner blogger,
but I made it work by getting fast and was able to get over $10/hr.
When I moved onto a $10 per post gig, my pay was up to $50/hr because I was fast and effective.

Speed and Focus
Staying fast and focused has increased my income greatly.
Another secret is automation. Automating tasks helps me focus only on the essential activities.
Automation, like a muscle, grows stronger with use, making you quicker and more efficient.
“Automation will soon become your brain’s default mode”
Aytekin Tank.
Today, I have leverage with a team, product, and knowledge, but in the beginning, it was all about obsession.
Now and then, I compete with my team or students to see who can do something faster,
and we all make awesome breakthroughs that literally change things forever for us and our customers.
For example, one of our students, Kirsty, is a perfectionist and was taking nearly three hours to do a task that took me 15 minutes,
but now she is down to under 25 minutes!
That means six times more profits for her as she is six times more productive on the stuff that matters!
Getting fast is just a skill, and it comes from repetition.
So by putting in more time with a focus on getting faster, you get bigger results – potentially 16 times the results like me!
